The original mahogany occasional side table from Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello estate was crafted in the Monticello joinery sometime after 1793. The unique ovolo-headed raised ornament on the heavy legs is similar to the decorative details on another of Jefferson’s tables, a French architect's table brought to his estate Monticello in 1793. It features a center drawer with a brass bail handle.
