Through Chicone Cabinetmakers' licensing agreement with Thomas Jefferson's Monticello, we offer eight licensed pieces of furniture inspired by examples from Monticello's collection. This group includes pieces built by us for the Griffin Discovery Room in the Smith Education Center at Monticello.
As with all of our furniture, each licensed example is a custom commission crafted by hand in our studio.

The black Monticello Windsor Bench® with red leather cushion is part of our licensed Monticello furniture collection. The original is on display in Jefferson’s Cabinet Room.
Tablet-Back Chair®
The original Walnut Tablet-back Side Chairs sit in the Parlor of Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello home. They were constructed by an unidentified Virginia-based craftsman, ca. 1815.
Tall Adaptable Desk®
This original Tall Adaptable Desk circa 1770- 1785 was used by Thomas Jefferson at his Monticello estate for reading and drawing. The original is on display next to Jefferson's Easy Chair.
Seed Press®
The original seed press sits in the cabinet room of Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello estate. Crafted in the Monticello Joinery circa 1809, Jefferson used the press to store garden seeds.
Side Table®
The original mahogany occasional table from Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello estate was crafted in the Monticello joinery sometime after 1793. It has a center drawer with a brass handle.
Dumbwaiter®
Dumbwaiter with walnut shelving set within yellow pine casework. Jefferson likely used the original dumbwaiter when he entertained dinner guests, a custom he picked up in France.
